ParticipantIf you would like an assignment for today, take a few pictures of the inside of your home. One clean and one messy for each room. You can refer back to them on lazy days 🙂

ParticipantGoing to do that! I’ve done it before, always amazed at how much different it looks. Also if someone walks in and is used to seeing it dirty they say WOW what happened?! I saw what, its clean! I want it to always be that way, with some grace but the norm to be clean. THanks for the great video! Time to get working on it

ParticipantMy home is appalling. I can’t even show photographs to anyone. It is extremely small and my husband works from home so quite difficult to get on with tidying. Some is procrastination, some laziness but also very difficult to fit everything in. We have one very small living room, only 12 foot by 18 foot and I have a piano in there as I teach part time. I can’t teach from home yet as it is too messy. We are blessed to be having the house extended this year. My husband will get an office and I will have a teaching room. I am hoping that this will make a difference to my homemaking. I will also have a dining/ eating area. At the moment my kitchen is too small to fit a table in. I really want to make a home that my husband will enjoy living in. Also that we can invite people into.

ParticipantWhen we had 6 children, we moved half way across the country. We sold a 3300 square foot home and bought a 720 square foot (2 bedroom) mobile home. We lived in it for 6 years while we slowly built our home.
It was small and we are thankful for all the room we have now, but I liked not having clutter. The home just wasn’t big enough to have too much stuff, so it was easier to keep clean.
Our living room was about the same size as yours. What a blessing for you to add on!

ParticipantThe problem is thaty husband collects boardgames too. He plays them too. I obviously need a piano so it does look fairly cluttered. Hope it will eventually look better. We are also having a small living room in the extension which I cam hopefully keep special for visitors and for us to relax in too. Without any clutter 🙂

ParticipantLoved this video!! 🙂 Thank you for letting us into your home. Seeing how other moms have their homes setup is so helpful. On a completely random note, may I ask where did you found your whiteboard?? We do school in our dining room area I’ve been looking for a whiteboard exactly like that!

ParticipantEmily, actually, I just got it at Walmart. It is a standard white board, then my husband made the border with the rustic wood and groves to fit the board.

ParticipantOh I wondered if your husband customized it for you! It looks so lovely and fits in great with your decor. Hmmm, my husband likes a good wood project, maybe I can talk him into it. 😉

ParticipantOkay, this was a good video. One of the things I like most about your Homemaking DVDs is seeing how tidy and peaceful your home looks, and it inspires me to get busy in my own home.

ParticipantLove this video! I love the idea of taking a before and after picture that you can look back on when you are lazy. I can imagine how motivating that would be! I will definitely do this! Thank you!

ParticipantAnother terrific video. And so convicting. I’ve heard the before of the idea of thinking if we’d be fired if we were being paid to do what we do. BUT, I hadn’t thought of what WE would think if we came home to the house the way it normally is (if we’d hired someone else to care for it). Oh my. Totally different outlook.
I wonder why I expect that I can be given “grace” for my laziness, but I would give none to someone I hired and expected to keep it relatively neat. (I’m not talking about those days/weeks that for various reasons you simply can’t get your head above water. But those shouldn’t be our forever norm.)
Convicted once again. I thought I was done with that? Hahaha. So far to go. -
