Hello! I’m Shannon. I’ve been married for 12 years to my backpacker I met doing work in China. wink emoticon We have 8 children, including 2 adopted from Ukraine, and one daughter in Heaven. And we homeschool here in Southeast Texas. We buried our newborn daughter last year, just after my 40th birthday, and this year, just after I turned 41, we had our surprise baby 8 weeks early and spent 3 weeks in the NICU. So our life has been even more of a hot mess than normal smile emoticon
I grew up in South Louisiana and all I ever wanted was to be a wife and Mommy – so I was a bit surprised to discover over the years that I really stink at being a homemaker! I’m really more suited for the traveling, writing, teaching, and missions I was doing before settling down to be a homemaker, and this role does not come easy for me at all. But I love my family and really want to thrive at this, instead of flailing and failing more often than not.
