A step-by-step, online training course for Christian homemakers who at completion can say:

“I feel more restful about my duties… my priorities are in order and my schedule is realistic…!”

The Elements of Christian Homemaking Course

Is a perfect fit if you’re currently…

Struggling

You struggle with getting basic, daily chores done and can’t figure out how to balance housework and motherhood.

Sometimes your just trying to survive. You don’t enjoy doing the same things over and over. As a result, the house is often messy.

Discouraged

You feel alone on the path you know God has called you to.  You rarely hear specific encouragement in your work as a homemaker, and doubt your competency many days.

You need to know that home is where you’re supposed to be and being a wife, mother and homemaker is what God has always wanted of women.

Hopeful

You need encouragement. You want to have the right heart attitude about homemaking, serve the LORD and have a peaceful (non-stressed) home.

You want to view this as a life calling and to pursue excellence in it rather then just getting through it.

By the LORD’s grace, what’s changed since before starting the course?

That there is plenty of time to get daily tasks done if I just use my time wisely.

Teresa

I’m making an effort to be much more mindful of the time I waste. I see now how many hours I let slip away that could really make a difference in how my home looks and feels.

Jessica*

God has really shown me a lot through this course and through other things … about the importance of my role as a wife, mother and homemaker. I’m finally getting it now! This is not just something I have to do in order to get over with and get onto things I like better (for me, music, eating, internet, TV, reading, etc) but is something I need to put my whole heart into, take initiative in, motivate myself and plan ahead. Thank you so much for all your emails and lessons, Jennifer, they have helped a lot.

Megan*

I have become more diligent about finishing tasks that I have started – especially when it comes to cleaning and tidying. It’s not a burden for me now as I think of it as being a way to honour my husband because he enjoys having a clean and tidy house.

This program is for you if you’re serious about Biblical homemaking and home management, if you want to love homemaking again, and if you plan to put the work into it.

I'm outside of the U.S., can I still join?

Yes!  The lessons are all online, so anywhere you have access to the internet, you’ll be able to access the course.

Is this geared for young moms just starting out?

It’s for Christian moms just starting out as well as Christian moms who have been home for years, but for whatever reason feel directionless as homemakers.

What if I'm new to homemaking?

Yes! This course is for you.  What you learn will give you a solid foundation to build on for many years.

Is there a specific time commitment?

No specific requirements other than my suggestion to actually watch and complete each lesson. There is a community that you’ll be invited to join if you take the course with no requirements to post. However, being part of it is an encouragement to many.

How does this course run exactly? Is it a “do at your own pace” kind of course?

The course is 3 weeks long and the lessons are pre-recorded. Once a day during those 3 weeks a new lesson will be available at Homemakers Academy site. You will work on your own, at your own pace for each lesson, but there is also a community that I encourage you to be a part of to ask questions, etc. and you can read and/or post there anytime.

What Others Are Saying

Before taking the Elements of Christian Homemaking Course:

“I am feeling like homemaking is drudgery… I am fed up with to-do lists that never get any shorter!”

After taking the course:

“I’m not really feeling overwhelmed or stressed! Amazing!  I have kept my bedroom, both bathrooms, living room and kitchen pretty clean since starting. I feel so much better and less stressed. I feel like its manageable, and not eating me alive. I feel like I have a purpose and understand my role.”

*Some members preferred to keep their reviews anonymous. Names with an asterisk have been changed to honor that request.

My focus and intentions toward homemaking and being a wife and mother have changed. I now see how being diligent and purposeful in the home can minister to my family and others!

I’m not feeling overwhelmed or too stressed now that I have order and plans for my day… Now, with the planner in hand and a new outlook, I can definitely say I’m feeling optimistic and happier.

Samantha

It has really helped me to picture and write a vision of how I want my home to be. This has helped me realize how I want things to look and be. This has led to a concrete, significant change in realizing and wanting to make the home, eg kitchen, nice for me to look at as well, not just doing this for others.

I have made a change by now regularly washing the pots and pans and not leaving them on the stove for later, regularly clearing and wiping the table and stacking dirty dishes away. I have picked up things for myself, for my own sake. I have also considered and made myself empty the compost regularly, as I know this is what my husband wants me to do, so I prioritize his desire by doing this.

Vanessa*

I have proved that the only way to find peace and joy is in accepting and fulfilling God’s will for me, and that even when things seem naturally impossible He can make it happen or go well. As soon as I begin to lose that sense of calm there is always a scripture that I can repeat to myself that will bring in that sense of stability again.

It’s about putting the people that I love first, and then using the time I am alone especially, wisely and purposefully, viewing each 15 minutes as a gift from God. My deep purpose is to glorify God, through caring for my family and home, and not to seek glory from men.

Kimberly*

My attitude about homemaking has changed for the better. Satan’s lies have been exposed so I am better equipped to fight them in the future. I am hopeful for continued grace and improvement in my life as a God-honoring homemaker!

Jennifer

The planner has been so helpful in my days and weeks. I have a new desire to care for my home and family. Cleaning and working on keeping clutter down is easier for me. The planner keeps me motivated to stay focused on my day in every way. I am doing so much more in my days and somehow it is all going smoothly and seems to get done, which is amazing to me. I used to think everyday chores were never ending and no one cares what I do, but I now have a fulfillment. My life is not so overwhelming anymore. The results of this course are what I’ve wanted for 5 years.

Kylee

“I have accepted my role in life. I feel happy and satisfied knowing that I am doing God’s will. I believe that my husband, children and home are gifts from God that He has entrusted me with.

The resource of time is also a gift from God and I am more aware of using it productively now and how He wants me to use it. I am thinking about Glory to God rather than glory from men. I also feel more restful about my duties and now my priorities are in order and my schedule is realistic it’s much easier to do chores with a smile!
